Surfing Made Simple
The SurfMode Maverick is a universal wake shaping system designed to work with almost any boat. The wake shaper system includes two “wings” designed to work in tandem to achieve the highest wake performance. Built on SurfMode’s patented technology - this detachable surf system is the industry’s first lateral displacement surf system. With a slim 3.5-inch base, the SurfMode Maverick is almost guaranteed to fit on boats that historically have difficulty running shapers including Mastercraft X-series, Moombas, Centurions, Tiges, Supras, SAN 210s, and more. This innovative design allows the surf wings to clear most deep steps, spray pockets, and other obstacles.
SurfMode has two components: a large rear wing, and a small front wing - the components work together to make one awesome surf wave. As opposed to traditional wakeshapers, SurfMode’s proprietary patented technology utilizes a new concept called lateral displacement to create longer, wider, stronger wake surf waves. SurfMode is compatible with almost any boat. Curved and contoured hulls are no problem for SurfMode’s flexible slim base.
The SurfMode system also improves safety factors for both your boat and your riders. With the addition of SurfMode wings, you’ll need less ballast weight to achieve your desired wake meaning that less stress will be put on your boat’s engine. Riders will also be better protected by the increased length of your wave. The steep section of the surf wave nearest to the boat is eliminated - keeping your surfer a safe distance away from the boat which is perfect for young or beginner riders.
Will SurfMode work on my boat?
Most likely! The SurfMode Maverick System was designed to be the most universal wake shaper system on the market. Not only does it work well on traditional boat styles, it also accommodates stepped hulls, concave hulls, convex hulls, and just about anything in between. The SurfMode flexible slim base only needs at least 20-in. x 3.2-in. of surface area free of any decals. This mounting area can have a slight curve, along the length of the boat.
What is the correct placement for the SurfMode wings?
Each hull is a little different, and different results can be achieved by slightly changing the angle at which you attach SurfMode, and by slightly changing the distance from the back of the boat where you attach it. Your ideal setup will be a matter of personal preference, so we recommend trying different positions and angles to find your favorite spot. Generally, moving it further back will make the wave steeper, and moving it further forward will make the wave longer. That being said, it is super easy to move around, and it will work beautifully in many different locations and angles.
How much weight do I need with SurfMode?
SurfMode is designed to significantly reduce the weight needed to create a quality surf wave. Typically, you can remove any aftermarket ballast bags and stick to using your boat’s built in ballast system with SurfMode. We recommend starting with these ballasts filled about halfway and adding water as needed to find the sweet spot for your unique boat.

Most packages ship via FedEx. When you place your order, you will have a choice of delivery timeframes (Ground, Second day, etc.). You will also receive an order confirmation which will allow you to track your shipment's progress. Keep in mind that while most items ship same day, some products require longer time to ship. International customers are responsible for all duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and any other related import fees.

Never surf behind an outboard or an inboard/outboard boat for safety reasons. We have not tested on such boats, and strongly discourage use on such boats.
Yes, and in most cases, it will result a better wave than your stock built-in surf system. For surf systems with tabs projecting from the hull such as Malibu’s Surf Gate, you will achieve best results by placing the SurfMode Maverick System in front of the surf gate, but higher up on the hull. This way some water is deflected by both the SurfMode Maverick System and the Surfgate, and you will see a noticeable increase in wave length. For surf systems that use tabs that flip down, you will see the best results by simply not using those tabs. These types of systems fight against the SurfMode Maverick System when engaged.
No! If installed properly, it will stay on all day, and never leave a mark on your hull! Will it float? Yes! It floats high enough in the water to spot it at a distance if it is dropped. If it is attached properly, it won’t come off, so this is rarely even an issue.
Do not tether! Part of making the best shaper in the world requires it to induce greater forces than other devices, and tethering it could cause it to slingshot into the boat, causing damage or injury. If for some reason it ends up detached in the water, it floats well and can be retrieved easily.
