Are lights required on my wakeboard tower?
The US Coast Guard requires that all boats have a navigation light that provides 2 NM of visibility in all directions installed at the highest point on their boat. If you’ve added a wakeboard tower, that point is at the top of the tower. If you choose the MTK, it features an integrated navigation light in the tower’s tow point so no additional lighting is required. For the MT1, MT2, and MTE, however, you’ll need to install a navigation light that meets these USCG requirements.
Which lights are best for my wakeboard tower?
The other accessories installed on your tower and your specific needs will dictate which are the best wakeboard tower lights. For high visibility in a specific area, an LED lightbar is an excellent choice. This lightbar can be rotated for visibility exactly where you need it and offers a combination of flood and spot coverage. For broader coverage across the entirety of your boat’s deck, an LED light set is a better option. This pair of lights can be mounted in opposite directions for full coverage or both mounted in a single direction for more light in a single area. The mounting direction and position may be changed at any time.
