A wakeboarder’s gear is key to enjoying their days on the lake. Unfortunately, those great days can be cut short if your wakeboarding gear isn’t properly cared for and protected. Keep reading to learn about our recommendations and best practices for maintaining and protecting your wakeboarding gear.

Proper Wakeboard Storage

Your wakeboard is the most important piece of equipment in your wakeboarding arsenal. Your wakeboard can also be a large investment depending on your skill level and the quality of the board you choose. Whether you have a beginner or a professional wakeboard, it’s important to keep it protected while on board your boat.

That’s why we recommend storing your wakeboard in a protective rack when it’s not in use. Not only will this practice free up space on your boat’s deck, it’s the best way to keep your boards protected during travel on the water. Monster Tower board racks, especially, are designed with protection in mind. A few of our favorite protective features include:

  • EPDM rubber bumpers are inlaid on each fork of the board rack to protect boards and prevent compression and indentation.
  • Flexible, semi-circle tabs in each rubber bumper reduce rattling of thinner boards.
  • UV-resistant, heavy-duty shock cords hold boards safely in place
  • All Monster Tower board racks feature adjustable forks to perfectly fit any wakeboard

These racks mount quickly and easily onto your tower’s legs for perfectly incorporated storage. Or, if you’d prefer a different wakeboard storage method, you could choose a cargo rack bimini for storage and shade all in one!

Pro Tip: To keep your wakeboard protected even after you’re back on land, be sure to properly clean your wakeboard after every use before putting it away.

Cover Accessories for Longevity

When your tower accessories are not in use, how do you keep them protected? If you don’t have a plan in place for shielding accessories like your wakeboard racks, single- and double-barrel speakers, and tower mirrors from the elements you might find them wearing out and needing replacement more quickly than anticipated.

Instead, we’d recommend using an accessory cover to protect your tower accessories when they’re not in active use. Whether your concern is exposure to the elements or damage from debris while trailering your boat, adding a cover provides the protection your accessories need.

Wakeboard Tower Maintenance

It may not immediately come to mind as part of your wakeboarding gear, but your boat’s wakeboard tower is an integral tool to your wakeboarding experience. As such, it must be properly maintained to continue providing a quality wakeboarding experience.

There are a few tasks that should be completed regularly to keep your wakeboard tower in the best shape for years to come:

  • Check your hardware regularly (after every 30 hours of use
  • Rinse your tower after every use
  • Wax your tower after each season

At Monster Tower, our goal is to continually improve your wakeboarding experience - that’s why we want to see your wakeboarding gear protected for years to come! From board racks to accessory covers, we’ve got everything you need to keep your gear looking its best.
